On May 30, the Oeko-Tex Association announced that it has completed a six-month test and is currently promoting a sustainable textile chemicals certification system, Eco Passport by Oeko-Tex.
The American website WWD showed that the International Environmental Textiles Association stated that the test results are satisfactory and that the first certified companies have obtained key advantages from the new Eco Passport concept.
According to the International Environmental Textile Association, there are three steps in the verification process for the Eco Passport test phase. Based on the customer and market feedback during the pilot testing phase, Oeko-Tex optimized the initial concept, improved the workflow among the applicant, the testing organization, the Oeko-Tex Secretariat, and simplified the certification and laboratory testing procedures.

Germany's Trützschler company, France's Foxconn International, USA's Lisitas Group, Japan's Jinfu Special Yarn, French ABB Group's Fupina, German OEM Group, US McKesson Group's Deneyr, Japan's Aeon Co., Ltd., Jesuit Island, Italy Alexandra Group Dormir, Japan's Afrosa Holding, France Veolia Environment Group, Italy's Meridiani, Sweden's IKEA Group, Korea LivingLab Home, Denmark Fredericia
It is understood that in the future, Oeko-Tex will conduct a two-step analysis of textile chemicals, dyes, textile auxiliaries and other compounds and raw materials to confirm whether they meet specific standards such as sustainability, safety, and compliance.
First, Oeko-Tex will compare chemical compounds with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 RSL and STeP by Oeko-Tex MRSL production-restricted substance lists, both of which meet the Union's REACH and zero emission standards for hazardous chemicals.
Oeko-Tex will then analyze textile chemicals, dyes and textile auxiliaries to ensure they do not contain any harmful contaminants. Compounds validated by these two programs are eligible for Eco Passport by Oeko-Tex certification.
The International Environmental Textile Association has always been committed to protecting the global environment and ensuring the quality and safety of textile products. The launch of a new certification system has further established the concept of the association and has provided a reputation protection for global textile environmental protection products.
